Poetry doesn’t have to start with a blank page; sometimes it starts with a full page from a book! Found poetry, also known as blackout poetry, is the process of creating poems by marking out words from recycled book pages. Participants can look for creative meaning in this subtractive process, editing down a passage into something new. Many of the resulting poems are also visual art pieces in themselves, using the redacted words as shape and form. Join us for this unique intersection of creative writing and visual process art!
