Toast Positive!Mar 20, 2020 - 5:00 PM - May 08, 2020 - 6:00 PMOur New (Virtual) Reality
Prost! Salud! Slainte! Cheers! To your health!
Fun fact: toasting originated as a way to show that one had not poisoned his neighbor's drink--the glasses were to be clanged together so boisterously so as to spill over into the other's glass, proving that both drinks were safe. Right now, we can't recommend this physical show of good health, but we can take this sentiment online. Let's fill our new virtual reality with positive cheers! Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it:
1. Support your local breweries by purchasing your favorite local craft beer (from the store shelves or straight from the taproom to go, in can/bottle/crowler/growler form, or even buy a keg for your home bar). Stock up in case you can't leave your house for awhile. Pretend you're buying toilet paper, but instead buy beer. While you're there, pick up some brewery merch or a gift card to help out as well.
2. Toast positive! When it comes to the virus, we want you to test negative. But when it comes to our online world, we'd rather you toast positive--do a video toast or picture toast on Instagram and facebook of something positive that is happening during all of this. Toast to a person or group making a difference, toast to a small joy you are experiencing, toast to a birthday or baptism or wedding or event that might go unnoticed right now without our new virtual reality.
3. Tag your friends and family that you wish you could be with during this time. Drink to past memories and future gatherings. Give others a virtual cheers. Tag your local breweries no matter which local beer you're drinking, so we can promote our amazing brewing community. Use the hashtag #toastpositive and let's see if we can't create a movement of positivity and connectedness.
Did you know that COVID stands for "Connecting Online Via Individual Devices"? And "Cheers Online Virtually I'll Drink (to that)"!Okay, we made that up. But let's make it happen, Green Bay. Support your local breweries so we can all make it through this stronger than ever. Support each other with virtual cheers and positive messages. We need this now more than ever.
